TAITUNG, Taiwan – May 5, 2025 Lyudao Prison, Agency of Corrections, Ministry of Justice, held a Mother's Day face-to-face visitation event on May 5, 2025. This event allowed inmates serving their sentences far from home to reunite with their loved ones and express their longing and gratitude. A total of 3 inmates and 10 family members participated, creating a warm and touching atmosphere.
Due to Lyudao’s remote location and the challenges of transportation, it is rare for family members to visit in person. Notably, one family traveled all the way from Nantou, driving long distances and transferring to a ferry to reach the island just to see their elder brother after more than five years of separation. The sight of the brothers embracing tightly after such a long time moved everyone present.
During the visitation, inmates and their families sat close together, sharing stories of mutual concern and affection, filling the venue with a strong sense of kinship. As the event concluded, family members gave the inmates deep hugs, conveying wordless support and encouragement. The event ended successfully in a heartfelt and warm atmosphere.
